Real Madrid bolstered its frontcourt for the foreseeable future by inking center Augusto Cesar Lima to a three-year deal on Monday. Lima (2.07 meters, 24 years old) arrives from UCAM Murcia, where he has been playing for the last three seasons. He averaged 9.4 points and 6 rebounds in 16 Spanish League games this season. Lima started his career with Franca Basquete of his native Brazil, joining Unicaja's youth teams in 2007. He played for Granada, Unicaja's second-division team Clinicas Rincon Axarquia and its fourth-division team until 2011, when Lima became a fulltime member of Unicaja's first team roster. Lima brings some Turkish Airlines Euroleague experience, having accumulated 147 points and 117 rebounds in 44 career games. He helped Brazil win a gold medal at the 2015 Panamerican games and reach the 2011 FIBA Americas tournament final. Lima will not be eligible to play for Madrid in the Top 16 until after Round 7.
