Cedevita extends Coach Mrsic for three years
Cedevita Zagreb and head coach Veljko Mrsic will remain together for another three seasons after agreeing on a contract extension on Wednesday. Mrsic, 44, took over on the Cedevita bench in June after two years as the team's assistant coach to Jasmin Repesa. He also spent two seasons as Cedevita's junior coach. So far he has guided Cedevita into the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 and third place in the Adriatic League and won the Croatian Cup. Mrsic made his coaching debut with former three-time Euroleague champion KK Split in 2006, coached Italian side Varese in 2007 and Cibona Zagreb in 2012. Before that he was a star player over 16 seasons with Borac Capljina in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cibona and Split in Croatia, Varese and Milan in Italy, Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania, Unicaja Malaga, Girona and Granada in Spain, Olympiacos Piraeus in Greece, Nesas and Ulker in Turkey and BC Kyiv in Ukraine.
