Unics keeps center Williams
Unics Kazan announced a new agreement with center Latavious Williams, who penned a one-year deal with the Russian powerhouse on Thursday. Williams (2.02 meters, 25 years old) averaged 8.8 points on 70.1% two-point shooting and 5.2 rebounds in 18 Eurocup games last season. He was the competition's sixth-best rebounder per 40 minutes (11.64). Williams helped Unics reach the VTB League finals and the Eurocup eighthfinals. He started his professional career with Tulsa of the D-League and also played for Joventut Badalona, Bilbao Basket and Cajasol Seville of Spain, Brose Baskets Bamberg of Germany, Metros de Santiago of the Dominican Republic and Vaqueros de Bayamon of Puerto Rico. Williams played the 2012-13 Turkish Airlines Euroleague with Bamberg, averaging 4.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 7 games, replacing injured big man A.J. Ogilvy until he came back.
