Unics Kazan bolstered its frontcourt for the upcoming season by bringing back forward Pavel Antipov on a one-year deal on Friday. Antipov (2.03 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Zenit St. Petersburg, where he averaged 7.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in 18 Eurocup games last season, helping his team reach the eighthfinals. He already played for Unics for three seasons, from 2012 to 2015. Antipov started his career with CSK VVS Samara and also played for Spartak St. Petersburg before joining Unics. He has also been a member of the Russian national team. He helped Russia win a gold medal at the 2013 World University Games played in Kazan and a bronze medal at the 2015 World University Games played in Gwangju, South Korea. Antipov also helped Unics win the Russian Cup and reach the Eurocup Finals in 2014. Antipov also made it to the Eurocup semifinals with Spartak in 2012 and with Unics in 2015.
