Panathinaikos Athens improved its backcourt by adding athletic playmaker Mike James, who penned a one-year deal with the Greek powerhouse on Sunday. James (1.85 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz, where he averaged 10 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 29 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. He boosted his numbers up to 14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in his team's playoffs series against Panathinaikos, in which Laboral swept the Greens to advance to its first Final Four since 2008. James started his professional basketball career with Zagreb of Croatia and also played for Kazrin/Galil Elion of Israel, Paffoni Omegna of Italy and VAP Kolossos Rodou of Greece before joining Laboral. "It feels good to come to one of the biggest teams in Europe. Panathinaikos is a team with great history," James siad. "I want to go back to the Euroleague Final Four and know that Panathinaikos wants the same."
