Unics Kazan made sure its returns all the pieces from last season by signing contract extension with a veteran swingman Vadim Panin. The club announced that the two sides agreed on a 1+1 deal, keeping the big guard with the team for at least a third consecutive season. Panin (2.03 meters, 32 years old) contributed off the bench with 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds last season in Eurocup. His role increased in later stages of last season, where in the VTB United League playoffs, during Unics' run to the finals, he averaged more than 19 minutes on the floor, with 3.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1 assist during that stretch. Panin has played for many different teams in his native Russia. He started his professional career with Dynamo Moscow, had a brief stint with Dynamo Moscow region, moved to Rostov, Ural Great and arrived for the first time to Unics in 2006. The next season he was with Vladivostok, then returned to the Moscow region to play for Triumph and Khimki, club where he made his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut in the 2010-11 season. The following year he joined Nizhny Novgorod, where he spent three seasons before joining Unics again in 2014. He has played a total of 9 Euroleague games wearing the uniform of Khimki and Unics.
