Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul continued to build a promising lineup with the signing of swingman James Anderson to a two-year deal, the club announced Thursday. Anderson (1.98 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Sacramento of the NBA, for whom he averaged 3.5 points over 51 games last season. He brings European experience from the 2014-15 campaign, in which he posted 14.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games for Zalgiris Kaunas. He also helped the team collect the Lithuanian League and Cup double. Anderson has played a total of five seasons in the NBA for four clubs – San Antonio, Philadelphia, Houston and Sacramento – and played briefly for San Antonio’s D-League affiliate in Austin. Prior to that Anderson played three years of college basketball for Oklahoma State University and was named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year for the 2009-10 season.
