Darussafaka inks Israeli League top scorer Clyburn

Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul picked up some extra scoring punch by signing forward Will Clyburn, who was the Israeli League’s top scorer last season with 20.9 points over 33 games for Hapoel Holon. Clyburn (2.01 meters, 26 years old) also ranked fifth in the league with 8.3 rebounds per game. He signed a one-year contract with an option for a second season. Darussafaka will be Clyburn’s third professional club after starting his career with two seasons with ratiopharm Ulm in Germany from 2013 through 2015. Clyburn first made a name for himself in college, where he played for three schools: Marshalltown Community College, the University of Utah and Iowa State University.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity to play for Darussafaka Dogus,” Clyburn said. “I know Darussafaka Dogus is aiming high in the EuroLeague and Turkey is an important country of basketball. Coach David Blatt has surely a great knowledge of the game of basketball and he will help us achieve our goals. This season will be a great season for me in a team full of talented and experienced players.”
