Panathinaikos inks champ Nichols
Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens bolstered its roster ahead of the upcoming Turkish Airlines EuroLeague campaign with the addition of forward Demetris Nichols who arrives from the reigning champion CSKA Moscow where he spent the past two seasons. The Greens announced on Friday night a one-year deal with Nichols (2.03 meters, 32 years old) who is coming off a season in which he appeared in 23 games and averaged 4 points and 1.4 rebounds. A season earlier, he was EuroLeague’s three-point shooting leader by wide margin, making them with 57.5% accuracy. The past two seasons were the first two in the competition for Nichols, who also played for Krasnye Krilya Samara in Russia, Capitanes de Arecibo in Puerto Rico, Sioux Falls and Iowa of the D-League, Cholet Basket, BCM Gravelines Dunkerque and JA Vichy Val d'Allier Auvergne Basket in France, as well as for Chicago and New York of the NBA.
