Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade announced on Thursday that two of the team's leaders, point guard Stefan Jovic and power forward Luka Mitrovic, have extended their contracts with the Serbian champion for another season, until summer of 2018. Jovic (1.98 meters, 25 years old) ranked fifth in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague last season with 5.7 assists. He also broke the EuroLeague 's single-game record with 19 assists in a regular season road win against FC Bayern Munich. Jovic averaged 7 points, 3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest, as well. Jovic won an Olympics silver medal while representing Serbia this summer in Rio de Janeiro. Mitrovic (2.04 meters, 23 years old) is a team captain who missed almost all of last season after suffering a knee injury. Previously, in 2014-15 campaign, he averaged 8.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in EuroLeague play. He grew up and started his career with Hemofarm Vrsac before joining Zvezda in 2012.
