Olympiacos Piraeus filled the void in its backcourt by signing point guard Dominic Waters for the remainder of the season, the club announced Tuesday. Waters (1.85 meters, 30 years old) comes in as a replacement for Daniel Hackett, who underwent surgery on his injured leg and will miss the rest of this season. Waters arrives from Cantu of Italy, where he had posted 14.6 points on 40% three-point shooting, along with 7.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds this season. He has played one season in EuroLeague for Union Olimpija Ljubljana in 2012-13 and was worth 2.4 points and 3.6 assists in nine appearances. Last season Waters competed in the EuroCup with Aris Thessaloniki and averaged 10.9 points and 4.5 assists in 16 contests. He also suited up for Verviers-Pepinster and Belgacom Liege in Belgium, Hapoel Holon in Israel, Manresa in Spain, Wuerzburg in Germany and Kolossos in Greece during his career.
