Olympiacos, Bogris agree to three-year deal

Olympiacos Piraeus bolstered its frontcourt with the signing of center Georgios Bogris to a three-year deal on Friday. Bogris (2.10 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Iberostar Tenerife, where he averaged 7.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in 35 Spanish League games last season. He helped Tenerife reach the Spanish League playoffs, the Spanish Copa del Rey tournament and win the FIBA Champions League trophy and being chosen as the best center in the competition. Bogris started his career with Ilysiakos Athens and also played for Panathinaikos Athens, Aris Thessaloniki, Panionios ON Telecoms Athens and PAOK Thessaloniki of Greece as well as for Morabanc Andorra and Bilbao Basket of Spain. He helped Panathinaikos win the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in 2011 and back-to-back Greek League titles in 2010 and 2011. Bogris has also been a member of the Greek national team; he helped Greece to the gold medal at the 2009 U20 European Championships and a silver medal at the 2007 U18 European Championships.
