Khimki gets defensive with Jenkins
Khimki Moscow Region fortified its backcourt for the club’s upcoming return to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague by signing a two-year contract with guard Charles Jenkins, club announced on Thursday. Jenkins (1.91 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, where last season he continued his progress as one of premier defensive players in the competition. Jenkins collected a EuroLeague-best 2.1 steals per game in a starting role for Zvezda last season. That was the highest league-leading average in five years in the EuroLeague and his 62 total steals tied for second-most in the competition's history. Jenkins is a four-season EuroLeague veteran. He made his debut in the league in 2013-14, the first of his three seasons with Crvena Zvezda. He spent the 2015-16 season with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. A native of New York, Jenkins has also played with Golden State and Philadelphia in the NBA.
