Khimki Moscow Region bolstered its frontcourt by inking power forward Andrey Zubkov, who inked a two-year deal with his new team on Friday. Zubkov (2.05 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, where he started his career and his only club until now. He averaged 7.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 17 7DAYS EuroCup games last season, helping Lokomotiv reach the semifinals. He won the 2013 7DAYS EuroCup with Lokomotiv, and also helped the team reach the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four in 2016, as well as the VTB League finals in 2013. Zubkov is also a regular member of the Russian national team, to which he helped get a gold medal at the 2013 World University Games played in Kazan, Russia. In 51 EuroLeague career games, Zubkov has accumulated 206 points and 79 rebounds, hitting 40.6% of his shots from downtown (28-of-69).
