Khimki Moscow Region and guard Viacheslav Zaytsev have agreed to an extension that will keep him with the club through the end of the 2018-19 season. Zaytsev (1.90 meters, 27 years old) has spent the bulk of his career at Khimki and averaged 4.5 points and 2.3 assists over 16 7DAYS EuroCup games last season. He also posted 6.7 points and 2.3 assists in the VTB United League. Zaytsev played in four EuroLeague games with the club earlier in his career. He joined the Khimki youth department when he turned 17 and played two years for the junior team and three seasons with the senior team. In that time he debuted in both the EuroCup and the EuroLeague, won the 2011 VTB United League title and reached the 2011 Russian League finals. Zaytsev then played four seasons for Enisey Krasnoyarsk and one for Krasny Oktaybr Volgograd before re-joining Khimki in 2016. Zaytsev has also been a member of the Russian U18 and U20 national teams.
