Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv added young talent to its first roster by promoting swingman Yovel Zoosman to its first team and extending his contract until the end of the 2020-21 season, the club announced Thursday. Zoosman (2.00 meters, 19 years old) comes off a solid season with Maccabi Raanana, where he was sent on loan, averaging 11.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 28 Israeli second division games. Most recently, Zoosman shined at the U20 European Championship this summer, leading Israel to get a silver medal by averaging 16.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals in seven games. He scored 23 points in the title game against Greece. Zoosman already made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Maccabi in the 2015-16 season, playing two minutes and 42 seconds in a home game against Brose Bamberg. "One of my most important goals, and I have done so in every team I have worked for, is to ensure the development of young local players," Maccabi head coach Neven Spahija said. "I am very happy that Yovel will be in our team, playing an important role and wearing Maccabi Tel Aviv's jersey."
