CSKA Moscow has announced that Leo Westermann will miss games due to a hip muscle injury he suffered in a domestic game over the weekend. Westermann (1.98 meters, 25 years old) collided with an opponent in the final minute of a VTB United League game against VEF Riga on Monday night. The resulting muscle contusion turned out to be serious and Westermann underwent surgery to remove a hematoma at GMS Clinic in Moscow on Monday night. The club's statement says that Westermann's availability will be determined after his rehabilitation at the clinic is complete, but that he will miss games during that process. Westermann has been averaging 4.5 points and 2.3 assists in 16 minutes on average through the team's first four Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games of the season.
