Buducnost VOLI Podgorica added plenty of firepower to its roster by inking shooting guard Edwin Jackson to a one-year deal, the club announced on Wednesday. Jackson (1.90 meters, 27 years old) arrives from FC Barcelona Lassa, where he averaged 4.6 points on 45.5% three-point shooting and 1.9 rebounds in nine Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. He started the 2017-18 season with Guangdong Southern Tigers, where he averaged 15.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 21 Chinese League games before starting a second stint with Barcelona. He previously played for Barcelona during the 2014-15 season, in which he averaged 3.0 points in 11 games. Jackson went on to play for Unicaja Malaga and Movistar Estudiantes, with which he led the 2016-17 Spanish League in scoring (21.4 ppg.). He started his career with INSEP Centre Federal of his native France and also played for ASVEL Villeurbanne, SPO Rouen Basket, and JSF Nanterre. Jackson is also a member of the French national team and helped it win a bronze medal at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. He was also successful with France in the youth categories, winning a gold medal at the 2006 U18 European Championships, a silver at the 2009 U20 European Championships and a bronze at the 2007 U19 World Championships. Jackson also lifted the French Cup trophy with ASVEL in 2008.
