Herbalife Gran Canaria took another step towards completing its roster by re-signing swingman Xavi Rabaseda to a two-year deal until the end of the 2019-20 season. Rabaseda (1.98 meters, 29 years old) averaged 4.1 points on 94.1% free throw shooting and 1.4 steals in 17 7DAYS EuroCup games last season. He ranked second overall in steals per 40 minutes (3.30) last season, trailing only Dogus Ozdemiroglu of Darussafaka Istanbul (4.26). Rabaseda started his career with FC Barcelona and also played for Cornella, Estudiantes, and Fuenlabrada before joining Gran Canaria in 2015. He has also been a member of the Spanish national team. Rabaseda helped Spain win respective bronze medals at the 2006 U18 European Championships and the 2008 and 2009 U20 European Championships. He also won the 2012 Spanish League title and the 2013 Spanish Copa del Rey crown with Barcelona, making it to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four each of those years.
