FC Bayern Munich and forward
Danilo Barthel have agreed to a contract extension that will keep him at the club for another two seasons. Barthel (2.04 meters, 26 years old), who has spent the past two seasons with Bayern, averaged 8.5 points and 4.1 rebounds in 16 7DAYS EuroCup games in helping the team reach the semifinals. His numbers jumped to 9.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in the German League, including a standout performance in the playoff finals that saw him take home the MVP trophy after Bayern conquered the title. Barthel started his career with USC Heidelberg and played five seasons with Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt before joining Bayern. His trophy case includes winning the German League and Cup double this past season and the 2016 FIBA Europe Cup with Frankfurt. Barthel plays for the German national team, too.
