Olympiacos releases guard Lucas

Kalin Lucas - OlympiacosFollowing the addition to the squad of point guard Acie Law at point, Olympiacos Piraeus released rookie guard Kalin Lucas, the club announced on Tuesday night. Lucas signed with the Reds over the summer and produced 5.4 point and 1 assist over 18 minutes in nine Turkish Airlines Euroleague games. His best game was a 13-point effort in a Week 7 loss at Fenerbahce Ulker. Lucas also produced 11 points and 2.5 assists in 11 Greek League games.

Before starting his professional career, Lucas was a four-year starter at Michigan State University and helped the Spartans reach the 2009 NCAA Tournament championship game. He finished his career among the school’s top 10 in scoring, assists and three-pointers made and was named the Big Ten Conference Player of the Year for the 2008-09 campaign.
