Buducnost beefs up with Omic
Buducnost VOLI Podgorica continued beefing up for its Turkish Airlines EuroLeague return by adding big man Alen Omic to the roster two weeks before the season starts. Omic (2.16 meters, 26 years old) was a member of the All-EuroCup First Team with Herbalife Gran Canaria in 2016 and won the 7DAYS EuroCup title with Unicaja Malaga in 2017. He arrives from Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, with whom he played 11 EuroLeague games after joining the club in midseason last year. He averaged 8.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in just 17 minutes per game for Zvezda, which was his third EuroLeague club. He had previously debuted with Union Olimpija Ljubljana in his native Slovenia in 2012 and also played for Anadolu Efes Istanbul in 2016-17. Before joining Zvezda last season, Omic spent time in the EuroCup with Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem. He has a total of 38 games of EuroLeague experience over three seasons, with averages of 5.1 points and 2.8 rebounds.Omic immediately becomes the tallest player on the Buducnost roster and the one with the most EuroLeague experience.
