Lietuvos Rytas improved its backcourt for the upcoming future by inking combo guard Nemanja Nedovic, the club announced this weekend. Nedovic (1.91 meters, 21 years old) arrives from Crvena Zvezda Diva, the only club he has played for until joining L. Rytas. He averaged 6.7 points and 1.5 assists in 22 Adriatic League games this season. He helped Zvezda to make it to the Serbian League finals and the Serbian Cup title game. Nedovic had a great 2010-11 season, averaging 16.4 points and 4 assists in 14 Serbian League games. He has become a member of the Serbian national team and has shined in youth competitions. Nedovic averaged 19.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals at the 2010 U20 European championships. He is now set to make his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut next season. "I wanted to work for coach Aleksandar Dzikic and that was one of the reasons why I chose to join Lietuvos Rytas. It is also important that the team will play in the Euroleague next season. I was to test my strengths in the strongest tournament," Nedovic said. "I know that Lithuanians live for basketball. Zalgiris and L. Rytas are Euroleague clubs with good organization and strong players."
