Anadolu Efes adds size with Erden

Semih Erden - Fenerbahce UlkerAnadolu Efes Istanbul bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Semih Erden to a two-year deal on Tuesday. Efes keeps an option to extend his contract until the end of the 2014-15 season. Erden (2.11 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Cleveland of the NBA, where he averaged 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds in 28 NBA games this season. He also played for Besiktas JK during the 2011-12 season, where he averaged 9.2 points and 6 rebounds in six Turkish League games. Erden has played for Boston in the NBA, Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul and Darussafaka in Turkey and Partizan in Serbia during his career. He has played five Euroleague seasons, most recently averaging 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 10 games with FB Ulker in 2009-10. He helped FB Ulker to win Turkish League titles in 2007, 2008 and 2010, as well as the Turkish Cup trophy in 2010. Erden is also a regular member of the Turkish national team. He helped Turkey to win a silver medal at the 2010 FIBA World Championships. Erden also reached the 2004 U18 European Championships and the 2006 U20 European Championships title games with Turkey.
