Montepaschi Siena bolstered its frontcourt and added more experience to its roster by inking center Benjamin Eze to a two-year deal on Friday. Eze (2.07 meters, 31 years old) arrives from EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, where he averaged 6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 19 Italian League games in 2010-11. He did not play last season. Eze started the 2010-11 season with BC Khimki, averaging 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 15 Euroleague games before joining Milano. He had previously spent six seasons with Montepaschi. Eze averaged 7.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 16 Euroleague games in 2009-10, his last season with the team. In his six years in Siena, Eze helped Montepaschi to win four consecutive Italian League titles and lifted two Italian Cup trophies. He also made it to the Euroleague Final Four with Siena in 2008. Eze has also played for Reggio Calabria in Italy, Autodorozhnik Saratov in Russia, Geoplin Slovan in Slovenia and Lagos Islanders in his native Nigeria. He is also a regular member of the Nigerian national team, helping it to win silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the 1999 and 2005 AfroBasket.
