Cedevita signs Ilievski, releases Stinson

Vlado Ilievski - Anadolu EfesCedevita Zagreb made a change at point guard on Thursday by signing veteran Vlado Ilievski and releasing Curtis Stinson, who had joined the club just one week earlier. Ilievski (1.88 meters, 32 years old) is a veteran of 11 Euroleague seasons with six different teams. Last season he started with Anadolu Efes, where he averaged 2.7 points and 2.6 assists in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season games. He later moved to Russian side Lokomotiv Kuban, which he helped reach the Eurocup quarterfinals. Ilievski ranks among the competition's career leaders in steals (12th, 187) and assists (18th, 339).

The well-traveled Ilievski has previously played for Union Olimpija in Slovenia, Partizan Belgrade in Serbia, Antalyaspor Antbirlik in Turkey, FC Barcelona and Caja Laboral in Spain and Roma, Montepaschi Siena and Virtus Bologna in Italy. He helped Montepaschi win the Italian League title and reach the Euroleague Final Four in 2008. Ilievski lifted the Spanish King's Cup trophy in 2009 with Laboral and won the 2004 Spanish League with Barcelona. He helped Olimpija win the Adriatic League and the Slovenian League titles in 2002, as well as four Slovenian Cup trophies in five seasons with the team. He is also a member of the FYROM national team, with whom he reached the semifinals at EuroBasket 2011.
