Herbalife Gran Canaria bolstered its froncourt by inking versatile forward Siim-Sander Vene, the club announced Thursday. Vene (2.03 meters, 28 years old), arrives from Montakit Fuenlabrada, where he scored 14 points in his only Spanish League game with the team this season. He started the 2018-19 season with BAXI Manresa, averaging 10 points in 6 games before briefly joining Fuenlabrada. A product of Zalgiris's youth categories, Sene started his career with Zalgiris-Sabonio mokykla Kaunas and also played for Kaunas Triobet beore being promoted to Zalgiris's first roster in the 2009-10 season. Vene has also played for Aisciai Kaunas, Baltai Kaunas and Rudupis Prienu of Lithuania, Ludwigsburg of Germany, VEF Riga of Latvia, Nizhny Novgorod of Russia, as well as for Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia and Pallacanestro Varese of Italy. He has also been a member of the Estonian national team. Vene won three consecutive Lithuanian League titles with Zalgiris in from 2014 to 2016, won the Lithuanian Cup title with Rudupis in 2013 and Zalgiris 2015, lifted the Latvian League trophy with VEF in 2012 and added a Baltic League crown with Zalgiris in 2010. Vene has played 45 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games with Zalgiris, averaging 3.1 points and 1.6 rebounds.
