Campazzo gives Madrid fans buzzer-beater déjà vu

Buzzer-beaters are special because they happen so infrequently, especially those that are thrown from the other half of the court. Players and fans remember them because they are truly rare. But Real Madrid fans have more than most to remember, and not just the ones that Sergio Llull calls his "mandarinas". After all, mighty-mite Facu Campazzo has made a pair of really, really long ones in just the last fortnight.

Campazzo warmed up when CSKA Moscow came to town on Thursday, November 29 by launching a shot from well beyond half-court that took its time deciding to go in....

Exactly two weeks later, on the same court at Wizink Center in Madrid, Campazzo was at it again. This time archrival FC Barcelona was the opponent, so for the occasion, the Argentinian point guard expanded upon his effort of two weeks earlier.

More than one observer was reminded of the same El Clásico on the same floor last season, when another Madrid player was making magic at the expense of Barcelona.

If Luka Doncic hadn't shot his from the opposite end of the court at the end of the third quarter, the coincidence might be downright eerie. His shot fell on December 14, 2017, almost exactly a year earlier than Campazzo's.
