Panathinaikos OPAP Athens has signed guard Sean Kilpatrick for the remainder of the season. Kilpatrick (1.93 meters, 29 years old) last played with Chicago in the NBA, where he averaged 15.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in nine games last season. He has also played in the NBA for Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee, Brooklyn, Denver and Minnesota, which is where he started his NBA career in 2014. A native of New York, Kilpatrick played college basketball at the University of Cincinnati from 2010 to 2014. he has also played for Santa Cruz and Delaware in the G League. This will be Kilpatrick's first taste of basketball in Europe and the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
"I've spoken to many NBA coaches about Kilpatrick. I know his college coach, he worked for me," Coach Pitino said of the signing. "He is an 11-star person on a 10-star scale. Hard worker. He is someone who can play a little backup 1 and give you some physicality. And certainly, he's a pro. He's somebody who carries himself with a great work ethic. He was the best choice for us the way we are right now."
