CSKA Moscow retained another core member of its championship squad by re-signing forward Semen Antonov for two more seasons. Antonov (2.02 meters, 29 years old) has been with CSKA since 2016. He averaged 1.4 points and 1.0 rebound in limited minutes over 21 games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague last season. Those numbers jumped to 6.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in VTB United League action to help CSKA collect that trophy, too. Before he came to CSKA, Antonov played six seasons for fellow Russian side Nizhny Novgorod and he made his EuroLeague debut with that club in 2014. He also led Nizhny to the EuroCup semifinals and the VTB finals in 2014 and to the Russian Cup final in 2011.

Antonov started his career with Avtodor Saratov and also played for TSU-Basket Tambov before joining Nizhny. As a member of the national team, he helped Russia conquer back-to-back bronze medals at EuroBasket 2011 in Lithuania and the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England.
