Khimki makes forward Valiev its newest addition

Khimki Moscow Region strengthened its frontcourt by inking power forward Evgeny Valiev to a two-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Valiev (2.05 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Zenit St Petersburg, where he averaged 4.5 points on 69.7% two-point shooting and 2.4 rebounds in 14 games of the 7DAYS EuroCup last season. He started his professional basketball career with RVK Moscow, joining Triumph Lyubertsy in 2007. Valiev played for the same club until now, having stayed when Triumph became Zenit St Petersburg in 2014. He has also been a member of the Russian national team. Valiev won a silver medal at the 2006 U16 European Championships and a gold medal at the 2013 World University Games played in Kazan, Russia. He is set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Khimki in the 2019-20 season.
