Valencia Basket has agreed to terms with playmaker Guillem Vives on a new contract that assures him two more seasons in the team's orange jersey, until 2021, with an option for one more. Vives (1.92 meters, 26 years old) averaged 4.2 points and 2.4 assists in 19 7DAYS EuroCup games last season, his fifth with the club. He helped Valencia win the 7DAYS EuroCup title last season, and the had lifted the Spanish League trophy together in 2017.
Vives also helped Valencia reach the EuroCup Final and won the Spanish SuperCup in 2017. He started his career with Joventut Badalona and also played for its affiliated team, Prat, before joining Valencia in 2014. Vives has been a member of the Spanish national team, with which he won a gold medal at EuroBasket 2015 and a bronze medal at EuroBasket 2017. Vives was also successful in youth categories with Spain; he won a gold medal at the 2011 U18 European Championship and a bronze medal at the 2013 U20 European Championship.
