Khimki lands scoring ace Karasev

Khimki Moscow Region added more firepower to its roster by signing shooting guard Sergey Karasev to a two-year deal, the club announced Monday. Karasev (2.01 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Zenit St. Petersburg, where he played the last three seasons. He averaged 16.8 points on 42.2% three-point shooting, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in nine 7DAYS EuroCup games last season. He started his career with Triumph Lyubertsy and has also played for Cleveland and Brooklyn of the NBA as well as for Canton of the D-League. Karasev is set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Khimki after scoring well in the EuroCup for many years. His scoring average of 15.3 points per game ranks him 12th overall in competition history. Karasev is also a member of the Russian national team, which he helped to a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England, and a gold medal at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia.
