Real Madrid and shooting guard Fabien Causeur agreed to terms on a deal that will keep the sides together for three more years. Causeur (1.95 meters, 32 years old) averaged 5.8 points on 41.5% three-point shooting and 1.4 assists in 35 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague last season. In his two years with Real, Causeur helped Los Blancos win back-to-back Spanish League titles and the EuroLeague trophy in 2018 with a stellar performance at that season's Final Four; he tallied 11.5 points on 5-of-5 three-point shooting in the games in Belgrade.

Causeur joined Madrid from Brose Bamberg, where he averaged 9.9 points on 62.5% two-point shooting and 3.2 rebounds in 29 EuroLeague games in the 2016-17 season. He helped Bamberg win the German League and Cup double and was the German League finals MVP. He made his EuroLeague debut with Cholet Basket of his native France in the 2010-11 season and later played four seasons with Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz. Causeur has averaged 8.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in his 122-game EuroLeague career. He played three seasons in total for Cholet – including two in the EuroCup – after starting his professional career with Le Havre, where he played four seasons. He has also suited up for the French national team in the past at both the Olympic Games and the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
