Zenit St Petersburg bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Colton Iverson to a one-year deal, the club announced Thursday. Iverson (2.12 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Iberostar Tenerife, where he averaged 11.3 points on 62.7% two-point shooting and 7.0 rebounds in 35 Spanish League games last season. He helped Tenerife reach the Spanish Copa del Rey semifinals and the Basketball Champions League championship game. Iverson started his professional career with Turkish club Besiktas Istanbul and also played for KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz of Spain, Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir of Turkey, Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel and MoraBanc Andorra before joining Tenerife last season. He helped Maccabi win the Israeli Cup. In three Turkish Airlines EuroLeague seasons with Baskonia, Karsiyaka and Maccabi, Iverson has accumulated 498 points (7.9 ppg.) and 348 rebounds (5.5 rpg.) in 63 games.
