Valencia lands former All-EuroCup playmaker Colom

Valencia Basket put experience in its backcourt on Sunday by bringing playmaker Quino Colom back to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on a two-year deal. Colom (1.88 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul in Turkey, where he put up 15.6 points, 6.0 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 27 Turkish League games last season. In his only previous Turkish Airlines EuroLeague experience, he averaged 11.3 points, 5.7 assists and 3.9 rebounds for UNICS Kazan over 25 games in the 2016-17 season. Colom also played two seasons in the 7DAYS EuroCup for UNICS, combining for averages of 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 37 games. He was named to the All-EuroCup First Team for the 2017-18 season and leads the competitions all-time standings with 6.6 assist per game. Colom was the last player to get a triple-double in the EuroCup, with 15 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds against Buducnost VOLI Podgorica on December 9, 2015, just his ninth game in the competition.

Colom started his career with CAI Zaragoza and played for several other Spanish teams such as Ranzauto Fiat Olivar, L'Hospitalet, Basquet Lleida, Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, Estudiantes and Bilbao Basket. He has also been a member of the Spanish national team. Colom helped Spain win respective bronze medals at the 2006 U18 European Championships and the 2008 U20 European Championships.
