Real Madrid bolsters frontcourt with Mickey
Perennial Turkish Airlines EuroLeague contender Real Madrid boosted its frontline by signing Jordan Mickey to a multiyear deal, the club announced Monday. Mickey (2.03 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Khimki Moscow Region, where he made noise in his EuroLeague debut last season. Mickey ranked fifth in the competition with 14.2 points per game and fifth with 1.1 blocks per game. He also pulled down 5.0 rebounds per game. His average performance index rating of 14.2 was 10th best in the EuroLeague. Mickey also averaged 15.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks helping Khimki reach the VTB United League finals. Mickey began his professional career in the NBA, where he spent three seasons with Boston and Miami. Mickey also played parts of two seasons on loan from Boston to Maine in the D-League.
