Khimki lands record passer Jovic

One of the best passers in Europe switched Turkish Airlines EuroLeague teams on Wednesday, when Khimki Moscow Region announced the signing of point guard Stefan Jovic to a two-year deal. Jovic (1.98 meters, 28 years old) arrives from FC Bayern Munich, where he averaged 8.3 points on 40% three-point shooting, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals in 23 EuroLeague games last season. In two years with Bayern, Jovic helped the team win consecutive German League titles – for the first time since 1955 – and a German Cup crown. Jovic started his career with Sloga Kraljevo and also played for Radnicki Kragujevac before joining Serbian powerhouse Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade in 2014. He led Zvezda to a new golden age, winning three consecutive Adriatic League titles and three straight Serbian League crowns from 2015 to 2017. Jovic also lifted the Serbian Cup trophy in 2015 and 2017, as well as making it to the EuroLeague Playoffs in 2016. He set the EuroLeague's single-game assists record, dishing 19 while playing for Zvezda against Bayern on November 12, 2015. A regular member of his national team, Jovic helped Serbia win silver medals at the 2016 Olympic Games and EuroBasket 2017.
