Coming in from above
Real center Walter Tavares matched his career high in blocks with 4 in 72-82 win against Bayern in December of last season.
Triple-double threat
Panathinaikos guard Nick Calathes flirted with triple-doubles twice against Efes. Two seasons ago, he had 29 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds in a thrilling 81-82 road win, and last season, he posted 20 points, 13 assists and 8 rebounds as the Greens prevailed 88-75 at home.
A showdown with history
CSKA beat Fenerbahce 96-101 in the 2016 championship game, which went to overtime on a buzzer-beating tip-in by Victor Khryapa. Nando De Colo, now with Fenerbahce, led CSKA that night with 22 points and was voted the Final Four MVP.
High-scoring ex-teammates
ASVEL's Edwin Jackson was a teammate of Milan's Nemanja Nedovic at Unicaja Malaga during the 2015-16 season.
Printezis's great memory
Olympiacos veteran forward Georgios Printezis had his career highs in points (30) and PIR (37) against Khimki in February of 2016.
Brown and his Russian memories
Zvezda's Derrick Brown was a teammate of Zenit's Andrey Zubkov at Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar for three years, from 2012 to 2015. They won the 2013 EuroCup together. Brown was also a teammate of Evgeny Voronov at Lokomotiv in the 2014-15 season.
Saras left his mark
Zalgiris head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius set Maccabi's EuroLeague single-game scoring record with 37 points against his current team, Zalgiris, on April 8, 2004. That game is best remembered for Derrick Sharp’s miracle three-pointer to force overtime and eventually send Maccabi to that season’s Final Four in Tel Aviv. Saras also owns Maccabi's second-best scoring mark (34 points), which came against Zalgiris, too, on December 23, 2004.
All of Perasovic's men
Barcelona center Ante Tomic played under Baskonia coach Velimir Perasovic on the Croatian national team. Barcelona point guard Thomas Heurtel played under Coach Perasovic at Anadolu Efes Istanbul during the 2016-17 season, while Barcelona forward Adam Hanga played at Baskonia under Perasovic during the 2015-16 season. Pau Ribas and Perasovic were together at Valencia for three seasons, between 2012 and 2015, wining the 2014 EuroCup title together.
From the EuroCup to the EuroLeague
ALBA and Valencia squared off in the 7DAYS EuroCup finals last season, with Valencia lifting the title after an 89-63 victory in the deciding Game 3.
