Calendar countdown: Round 33

The countdown is on for the start of the 2019-20 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season on October 3! The new EuroLeague season once again promises great matchups, week in and week out, but also more teams and games to enjoy than ever before in European club basketball. Season-long drama is in store, that's for certain. Just check out the matchups in Round 33!

A pair of key Maccabi personalities return to a city they know well this week. Coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos hails from Greece and has spent nearly a decade coaching in the Greek capital. Maccabi big man Othello Hunter played two seasons at Olympiacos Piraeus, from 2014 to 2016. Both men worked with Panathinaikos forward Ioannis Papapetrou.

Last season in Moscow, Efes rallied to beat Khimki 84-85 on a Dogus Balbay three-pointer with 2 seconds to go. Apart from hitting the game-winner, Balbay dished a career-best 6 assists in that win in October 2018. Balbay previously set his career-high with 5 steals against Khimki in March of 2018.

Zenit St Petersburg vs. AX Armani Exchange Milan

A scorer and coach reunion

Milan's Nemanja Nedovic played under current Zenit coach Joan Plaza at Unicaja Malaga for three seasons, from 2015 to 2018. They won the 2017 7DAYS EuroCup title together.
