Zalgiris Kaunas added experience and firepower to its roster by inking one-time Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion K.C. Rivers for the remainder of the season, the club announced on Friday. Rivers (1.96 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Coosur Real Betis, where he averaged 10.1 points and 2.2 assists in nine Spanish League games this season. He started his professional basketball career with Italian side Associazione Basket Latina. Rivers has also played for Benetton Treviso, Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia and Virtus Bologna of Italy, Chorale Roanne of France, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar and Khimki Moscow Region of Russia, Reno of the D-League, Real Madrid of Spain, FC Bayern Munich of Germany, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens of Greece and Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade of Serbia. He helped Real lift the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague trophy in 2015, and also won two Spanish Copa del Rey crowns and a Spanish League title with Los Blancos. Rivers also helped Panathinaikos win consecutive Greek League titles in 2017 and 2018, lifting the Greek Cup trophy in 2017, too. Last season, he helped Zvezda win the Adriatic League and the Serbian League titles. In 146 EuroLeague career games with Khimki, Real, Bayern and Panathinaikos, Rivers has accumulated 1,243 points (8.6 ppg.) and 347 rebounds (2.1 rpg.), ranking 33rd overall in three-point shots made (229).
