Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv and center
Othello Hunter will be together until 2021 thanks to their agreement on a contract extension, which the club announced on Monday. A defending Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion after having won the title with CSKA Moscow last season, Hunter (2.03 meters, 33 years old) joined Maccabi last summer on a one-year contract with an option for another. That option has been guaranteed and another on-year option added. He has become a pillar of Maccabi's rise in the rankings to currently occupy fifth place, with a 14-8 record. Hunter leads Maccabi in total and offensive rebounds, with 6.4 and 2.5 on average, respectively, while ranking second on the team with 10.0 points per game. Hunter is in his seventh EuroLeague season with his fifth club. He began with Montepaschi Siena in 2013, made it to the EuroLeague Championship Game with Olympiacos Piraeus in 2015, the first of their two seasons together, returned to the Final Four in 2016-17 with Real Madrid and in 2017-18 with CSKA before winning it all last spring. In a total of 183 EuroLeague games to date, Hunter boasts averages of 8.2 points and 5.2 rebounds while making 60.5% of his two-point shots.
