Real Madrid re-signs Carroll
Real Madrid reached a new agreement with shooting guard Jaycee Carroll to keep working together for one more year, until the end of the 2020-21 season, the club announced Thursday. With this agreement, Carroll (1.88 meters, 37 years old) is set to play a full decade with Los Blancos. He joined the team before the start of the 2011-12 campaign, helping Real reach another golden age. In his time with the club, Carroll has helped Real win two Turkish Airlines EuroLeague titles in 2015 and 2018, reaching two other Championship Games in 2012 and 2013. He has also lifted the Spanish League title five times, and won six Spanish Copa del Rey crowns, as well as the 2015 Intercontinental Cup. Carroll is averaging 7.5 points on 40.5% three-point shooting in 22 EuroLeague games this season. In per 40-minute basis, Carroll ranks 14th in scoring (22.5) and 4th in three-point shots made (4.34). Carroll has worn Real's jersey more than any other foreign player in club history, and ties for 19th place in games played in EuroLeague history - 234. Only two American player, Kyle Hines (281) and James Gist (246) have taken part in more EuroLeague games than him. Carroll has scored 2,315 points, ranking 22nd overall, and is set to keep filling the baskets all across the EuroLeague courts for at least one more season. He has also played for Gran Canaria of Spain and Basket Teramo of Italy. "I am willing to win more titles and play at the highest level," Carroll said after the agreement. "I don't know if I changed a lot but I have more experience after all these years, more confidence during the games and in the important moments. We gained experience by playing finals and winning titles."
