ALBA Berlin filled a hole in its frontcourt by signing center Ben Lammers to a three-year deal on Friday. Lammers (2.08 meters, 24 years old) arrives at the German powerhouse from RETAbet Bilbao Basket, where he averaged 7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 28 Spanish League games last season. Bilbao was the first stop in his professional basketball career; Lammers helped the team earn promotion to the top Spanish division in 2019. Before that, Lammers finished his college career at Georgia Tech with 11.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 32 NCAA games in 2017-18. He is now set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with ALBA.
"I am happy about the opportunity to come to Berlin because ALBA is a very well-known club and plays in the best competition in Europe," Lammers said. "ALBA's coaching staff is known for developing players and I hope to become a better player in the years to come."
