Zalgiris Kaunas bolstered its frontcourt by inking power forward Augustine Rubit to a one-year deal, with an option to keep him until the end of the 2021-22 season, the club announced Wednesday. Rubit (2.03 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Olympiacos Piraeus, where he averaged 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 26 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. Before that, Rubit has played in Germany throughout his entire professional career, for teams like Walter Togers Tuebingen, ratiopharm Ulm and Brose Bamberg. He made his EuroLeague debut with Bamberg in the 2017-18 campaign, averaging 10.1 points and 4.7 rebounds in 30 games. He helped Bamberg win the German Cup title in 2019.
