Real adds star talent Alocen to backcourt

Real Madrid welcomed one of the top young point guards in Europe as the club announced Wednesday that Carlos Alocen will play with the team in the up-coming season. Alocen (1.94 meters, 19 years old) joins Real after playing last season with his hometown club Casademont Zaragoza, where he averaged 7.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 28 games. That performance netted Alocen the award for the Spanish League's best young player for a second straight year. Alocen and Real signed a long-term contract before the 2019-20 campaign and the playmaker was allowed to stay with Zaragoza last season on loan. On October 30, 2016, Alocen made his debut in the Spanish League at 15 years and 10 months, breaking the Zaragoza club mark for youngest debutant and becoming the third youngest player in league history behind only Ricky Rubio and Angel Rebolo. In February 2019, Alocen made his first appearance for the Spanish national team becoming the fourth youngest player to make his debut.
