Anadolu Efes Istanbul kept yet another foundational piece of its roster by signing an extension with veteran guard Krunoslav Simon on Monday. The contract is for one season with an option for another year, the club announced on Monday. Simon (1.97 meters, 35 years old) has been with Efes for the past three seasons and made 57 starts in 90 appearances. Last season he posted 8.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists, helping the team to a 24-4 record before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Simon is a veteran of eight EuroLeague seasons with 176 appearances in the competition, including stint with KK Zagreb in his native Croatia, Unicaja Malaga, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar and AX Armani Exchange Milan. Simon has EuroLeague career averages of 10.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
