A new era at Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has brought another change with the announcement on Thursday night that the club and All-EuroLeague point guard Kostas Sloukas are parting ways. Sloukas (1.90 meters, 30 years old) has spent the last five years with Fenerbahce, and helped the team reach four straight Final Fours, including three consecutive EuroLeague Championship Games, winning the historic EuroLeague title in 2017. That was a third EuroLeague title for Sloukas, who also won a pair with Olympiacos Piraeus in 2012 and 2013, and has played in six Championship Games in the past nine years. Sloukas wore Fenerbahce uniform in 143 games in the EuroLeague over five seasons and averaged 10.1 points, while only two qualified players averaged better than his 4.8 assists during that span. Sloukas earned All-EuroLeague First Team honors in the 2018-19 season when he posted 11.8 points on a career-high 44.9% three-point shooting along with 4.8 assists. Last season Sloukas averaged 11.6 points and a career-best 6.1 assists.
