The man with the most appearances ever in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Felipe Reyes, will further add to his tally after agreeing a new contract with Real Madrid. Reyes (2.04 meters, 40 years old) has made a record 352 appearances in the competition since debuting with Estudiantes in 2000. The last 340 of those games came with Real Madrid, where he has also won two EuroLeague titles, and he has now agreed a one-year deal to extend his stay with Los Blancos, his 17th with the club.
"I feel at home here and have spent half my life playing for Real Madrid", he told Real Madrid TV. "I am very happy to defend these colors and stay for another year with this great club. When I stop and think about all the time I have been playing, and that at the age of 40 I’m with a club as demanding and great as Real Madrid, I feel proud. That’s what motivates me to carry on working and fighting to help the team in any way I can."
Reyes joined Real in 2004 and has been a fundamental part of the team ever since. He won the EuroLeague title in 2015 after averaging 10.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game over 30 appearances and earning All-EuroLeague First Team honors, and added another continental crown in 2018. He is ranked second on the competition’s all-time rebounding charts, with his total of 1,793 boards just behind Paulius Jankunas of Zalgiris Kaunas (1,816). He has also won seven Spanish league titles and six domestic cups with Real, plus four gold medals with the Spanish national team.
