Bayern strengthens frontcourt with Reynolds
Bayern Munich continued reshaping its frontcourt for the coming season with the signing of big man Jalen Reynolds to a one-year deal. Reynolds (2.07 meters, 28 years old) last played for Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv where he made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut last season. He appeared in 12 games in which he averaged 5.7 points and 5.3 rebounds. He began the season with Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in China and also played for Stockton in the D-League. Reynolds spent the 2018-19 season with Zenit St Petersburg and posted 13.8 points and led the competition with 8.1 rebounds. The big man started his professional career with Recanati in the Italian second division, before moving to Italian side Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia where he spent a year and a half. Reynolds also had a brief stint with FC Barcelona in Spain.
“Jalen complements our frontcourt with a lot of physicality and athleticism. He brings energy, strong rebounding and a certain presence in the zone, which we will look forward to on both the offensive and the defensive ends," Bayern sports director Daniele Baiesi said. "He was looking for a way to establish himself as a starting center in the EuroLeague. We are very happy that he chose us and are looking forward to it."
